TRAC (Teens Revolving Around Christ)

What is T.R.A.C. ?

TRAC
is an acrostic representing what we desire to see accomplished in the life of our teens. Teens - whose lives are… Revolving Around Christ

We
desire to provide a place where middle and high school young adults can come and feel welcomed, accepted, listened to, and learn how to have an everyday relationship with Jesus Christ. We want to see them continually progress in that relationship with Him and learn how to share their faith with others. Our desire is that when they graduate they will continue to strive to have a relationship with Him where ever they may go in life.

We
believe that God ordained the parents to be the primary person involved in the spiritual development of their teens. Our influence, while it may be useful, is limited. To that end we desire to come along side the parents and be what assistance we can. The Foundation for everything we do in TRAC is the Word of God. We hold it up to be inerrant, inspired and life changing. Heb. 4:12

Teens

Why a teen group? Because they have common age, interest, problems and issues of life. We see in 2 Tim 2:22 that not only are they to “flee the wrong desires of youth”, but they are also to “pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”

Revolving

Why revolving? It gives the sense of something being your primary focus. Since the teen years are filled with nonstop change and growth we want Christ to be the constant in their lives. He can be that primary focus. Matthew 22:36-37 says that the greatest focus we could have is loving God with all our heart, soul and mind.

Around

Why around? As followers of Christ, the center of our lives is to be Him not other aspects of life. In our teen years, it is so easy to get swept up by the latest greatest thing out. We want to have a focus that is centered on the purposes of Christ which we see in Matthew 28:19 as making disciples of Him.

Christ

Why Christ? He is the only one worthy. John 3:16 tells us that His love for us is so great that He gave His life for us. It is because of that love that we can be saved, by His grace through faith in Him, from a life and death in which we are eternally separated from Him.
